Lohri is the winter harvest festival of the Punjab region as the traditional time to harvest sugarcane is in winter. The festival also is the symbolic celebration of the winter solstice, and is the last day of the farmers' financial year.


                                                                                    Diwali is also the anniversary of Guru Hargobind ji being released from the prison at Gwalior Fort. In was on this day in 1619 A D. Diwali of Amritsar was out-of-the-world. Today, the entire Golden Temple is illuminated with traditional lamps of different colors during Diwali. The reflection of the temple in the shimmering water of the holy pool binds the eye, to the many-a-splendored pageant. Fire works display by the traditional professionals recreates the glory of the times gone past.

Introduction

 "Punjabi Culture is one of the oldest in world history".  Punjab  is a state in North India, forming part of the larger Punjab regionPunjab is known for its beautiful culture. The word PUNJAB is made up of two Persian words -Panj- and -Aab-. Panj means five and Aab means water. As the name itself justifies it has five water bodies river and they are Jhelum, Ravi, Beas, Sutlej and Chenab. The people of Punjab  are very friendly, hospitable, hardworking and relish living. Agriculture is the largest industry in the Punjab . Village life in Punjab is so real and peaceful people help each others!
