Marriage



Punjabi marriage is a combination of rituals, faith, believe, love and culture. no other cultures wedding have so much wedding rituals as much a Punjabi wedding. Punjabi wedding starts with roka where both families decide to marry their son or daughter with the another family's son or daughter.
Roka is a ritual, where boy and girl see each other and their families meet for first time.
sagai (engagement)  this ritual includes ring exchange between bride and groom.
usually Punjabi wedding goes on for a week or so.
dholki/sangeet (DJ night) jago has a very vital role in punjabi wedding where both families celebrate the happiness of marriage.
Anad Karaj is biggest and special ritual in Punjabi weddings, no wedding is completed without this anand karaj. both bride and grrom promise each other to live together and forever in the presence of "shri Guru Granth Sahib".
last but not least is doli. Doli is ritual where the bride leaves her home and go with her husband to live with him and his family. Punjabi weddings are really fun!
